Sleep, the only thing we never get tired of.. the one thing everyone wishes for after a long day but has anyone ever wondered if it’s a mandatory thing to do or what happens to our body if we don’t sleep,  Yes.. a good nights sleep make our day more vibrant. Still and all, is it okay to not have a sound sleep???

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DONT SLEEP??

The scrupulous reason behind sleep is yet to be found, after much research the reason is however unspecified. Sleep allows our body and brain to take rest and prepares us to be more inventive for the next day. We all know sleep is good for us, but what happens when we don’t get enough sleep?? let’s go into detail…

Insufficiency of sleep in our lives can make us cranky and muddled, it can affect our health and lifestyle in many ways,

24 HOURS

If we are sleep deprived for 24 hours what happens????

Our judgment and hearing will be impaired, we will have difficulty in decision making. Overall our memory, judgment, and coordination will be impaired.

36 HOURS

If we are not sleeping for 36 hours ,what happens ???

36 hours is a lot of time, at this point, our physical health starts to get affected, poor decision making, speech impairment is often caused.

72 HOURS

72 hours of no sleep is quite dangerous …., we can have major cognitive deficits, hallucinations, etc… if we are taking a break from sleep for 72 hours, we can expect a shortfall in perception, mental wellness, and motivation.

Health problems

A good nights sleep rewards us with a healthy life, by the same token,  lack of sleep brings about many health problems

  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure

Affects our skin

Shortage of sleep affects our skin very badly, most of all it ages our skin. If we don’t sleep enough our body produces more cortisol(stress hormone) which breaks down collagen thereby speeding up the process of aging. Thereupon sleep is an important factor in our beauty routine.

Weight gain

YES!!  Sleep loss causes weight gain. It brings about an increase in hunger, appetite, and obviously leads to obesity. So if we are following a diet plan or exercise it’s time to include sound sleep in the regimen.

WHY CAN’T WE GET ENOUGH SLEEP?

The shortfall in sleep can be dangerous to our health, many reasons contribute to this factor like

  • Sleep apnea
  • Insomnia
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Sleepwalking
  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Snoring or choking during sleep

Sleep is something inevitable from our lifestyle, time and time again, it gives us a sense of well being, a positive approach towards life. The absence of sleep creates great consequences, whatsoever it’s important to have a healthy lifestyle and sleeping is important for that. So always remember to have a well-toned sleep for 7-9 hours. SLEEP MORE, STAY HEALTHY!!
